As the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts has a high-profile career. While his victories on the field are televised across the country, Hurts tends to keep his love life out of the limelight—that is, until the NFC Championship on January 29, 2023. After the NFL star’s team beat the San Francisco 49ers during that pivotal game, securing their spot in Super Bowl LVII, Hurts walked out onto the field, holding hands with a girl, who was later identified as his girlfriend, Bryonna “Bry” Rivera Burrows.
A few months later, the professional football player confirmed and opened up about his relationship with Burrows, whom he’s been dating on and off since they first met at the University of Alabama. “I’m not married or anything like that, but I am spoken for,” he clarified to Essence on April 18, 2023. He also told the outlet that he “knew a long time ago” that Burrows was the one he intended on marrying. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling,” he shared. “I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”
Since Hurts strictly uploads content about his career and philanthropic contributions on Instagram and since Burrows keeps her profile private, there isn’t much information on the couple and their timeline. However, we did some digging to scrounge up everything we could on the quarterback’s love interest.
Wondering who Jalen Hurts’ girlfriend is? Here’s what we know about Bry Burrows.
All the NFL Power Couples We’re Rooting for This Season
According to her LinkedIn profile, Burrows attended the University of Alabama for college, where she studied political science and Spanish. As a student there, Burrows was a member of the Theta Sigma chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first intercollegiate historically African American sorority. As part of this student group, she was recognized as an “Outstanding Junior for Order of Omega” in 2016. Since Hurts was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity at Alabama—where he played on the school’s football team before transferring to the University of Oklahoma his senior year—the two of them likely met through Greek life.
Burrows was also a member of several honor societies, and she participated in many extracurricular activities. When receiving her degree, the star student graduated with honors. “No words to describe the humble reminder of Honors Day at #UA,” she told the university. “Knowing I have been recognized is priceless.”
After acquiring her bachelor’s degree, Burrows went on to secure her Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama. While studying for her MBA, Burrows was the vice president of her school’s MBA Association in 2018 and the captain of the MBA Case Team, which she described as “one of the most memorable moments of grad school,” per her LinkedIn. In 2019, her team even won the national SEC Championship. She graduated from the school in 2019.
Burrows has been working in the tech industry for the entirety of her postgraduate career. Soon after receiving her MBA, IBM hired Burrows to work as a senior client experience consultant in Dallas, Texas. She was later promoted to a sales executive and a software financing leader before taking on her current role: an artificial intelligence partner.
In 2021, on her LinkedIn profile, Burrows shared a Harvard Business Review article about how different personalities manage the “always-on” work culture. In her post, she said she identifies as an extrovert.
In the same LinkedIn post discussing the aforementioned HBR article, Burrows said she usually copes with the 24/7 work culture by spending time outdoors, saying it “recharges me every time!” In particular, she notes that doing “something active” is a “game changer” for maintaining work-life balance and preventing burnout.
Like Hurts, his girlfriend is also interested in volunteering to help others. In 2022, Burrows was a coach for IBM’s eight-week Accelerate program, which helps minority undergraduate students prepare for the business world. “It was the best time speaking and coaching breakout sessions for a few weeks,” she posted on LinkedIn. “I can assure you with these students, the future is in good hands! #BigBlue.”
The previous year, Burrows contributed to a panel for diversity and inclusion as part of IBM. “I’m fortunate my company allows us the space to converse, listen, and learn from one another,” she wrote. “D & I is deeper than gender, skin color, or nationality. It’s about lived experiences that define who we are and better our community and workplace.”
Hurts and his girlfriend are rarely seen together in public, but for their first appearance, Burrows supported the quarterback at his NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers in January 2023. After Hurts led his team to a victory, Burrows was spotted smiling beside her boyfriend while they held hands on the field after the game. One video that FOX Sports posted on X at the time captured Burrows celebrating the win by hugging friends and family.
When Hurts was nominated for the 2023 Time100 Next list for being “a model of how to approach a job,” according to the website, Burrows celebrated her boyfriend’s huge recognition by attending the event with him—which was also their red carpet debut. The couple was photographed smiling with their arms around one another, dressed in matching black ensembles. During the function, Hurts also acknowledged that he isn’t keeping his relationship with Burrows a secret and that he’s “happy.”
