Russell Wilson has long owned a home outside of San Diego in Rancho Santa Fe, where he often holds unofficial offseason workouts. It’s unclear if the family has any ties to the area beyond their love of the area, but the property is impressive. Situated on a former equestrian estate, it sits on more than seven acres. The site is particularly suited to the athlete: He converted the riding grounds into a football field so he could practice with his teammates. According to ESPN, the field is surrounded by palm trees and even has Wilson’s “RW3” logo painted in the center. “We have the best job in the world: We make a living playing football,” Wilson said of his team’s players. “We spend all our time together. It’s a lot of effort, a lot of focus, a lot of long days, long nights, early mornings. All of those things add up, even in the offseason.” It seems the San Diego area is still a home base for the couple and their family.
Seattle’s Lakefront Estate
The couple then set their sights on Washington State, with Russell Wilson serving as the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. They purchased two plots of land in the upscale Bellevue neighborhood on the outskirts of Seattle for a combined $15 million. The first plot, which they bought in 2015 before their wedding in England, cost $7.2 million. The second, which they bought in 2019, cost about the same amount. The 80,000-square-foot estate sits right next to scenic Lake Washington, with over 260 feet of private access, including small beaches, a three-boat dock, and stunning views of the Seattle skyline. The main house has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a movie theater, a recording studio, and a professional gym, all spread across 1,000 square feet of space. The Wilsons put their stamp on the property by adding a three-story elevator, a gazebo, and a one-of-a-kind treehouse overlooking the lake. The interior of the home is grand, with enormous crystal chandeliers, dramatic spiral staircases with wrought iron banisters, and marble floors throughout. After Russell Wilson moved to Denver, the family decided to put the entire estate up for sale for $33 million in 2022. The smaller property was quickly snapped up for $8.5 million, but is now back on the market for $9.8 million. The main house, built in 2007, only sold in May of this year to an anonymous buyer for $19.5 million. Despite receiving less than the asking price, the couple still pocketed a total of $28 million after selling the two properties.
Tammy Wilson’s Thank You Gift
Russell Wilson decided to thank his mother, Tammy, for her unwavering support by gifting her a brand new home for Mother’s Day. In a sweet video the quarterback shared on Instagram, his mother can be seen looking confused as he hands her a set of keys. “These are the keys to your new house.” After a few seconds of silence, Tammy can be heard asking her son if this is “for real” before letting out a squeal of joy. “After all these years, you never asked me for anything,” the athlete captioned the post. “Thank you for loving us the way you do. This gift is for you. I love you mom. ” The exact location of Tammy’s new home is unknown.
