During the call, Davis’ personal assistant was heard telling dispatch that someone discovered the former NFL player’s body after not being able to find him inside the house.

“She arrived and he’s on the ground of the residence … I know there’s weapons in the house,” the assistant said in police audio obtained by TMZ.

Dispatch asked if he wasn’t moving and the caller replied, “Yes.”

“I’m on my way there, but there’s someone else who is there already,” the assistant said.

“She froze. She called me and she couldn’t even speak, that’s why I called.”

The assistant made it clear to the dispatcher that the woman at Davis’ home was frightened.

“The girl that is there she’s very scared, she can’t even talk.”

Davis’ personal assistant added that they last saw him alive on Friday.

“Last time I saw him was Friday and I know that someone saw him Saturday … one of the drivers. He was with him until 7:30 pm,” the woman said.

A second caller explained what happened when she arrived at Davis’ home.

“I got to the house and I couldn’t find the person so I was walking around the house then I found him in the gym area,” they said.

Dispatch asked the woman to find a defibrillator, but it was unclear if one was found or used on Davis.

Over the last day, detectives and security have been investigating at the home of the former NFL star.

Cleanup and restoration crews that were at the scene Monday came back on Tuesday.

Davie Police said preliminary information suggested that foul play was not involved in his death.

The U.S. Sun has contacted police for updates on the case.

Davis was a football cornerback and two-time Pro Bowler who played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills.

Once word of his death began to circulate, former teammates and friends shared their heartbreak on social media.

Darius Butler, also from the Indianapolis Colts, responded to the jarring news.

“It’s tough, and you know, obviously, we’ve dealt with a lot of teammates, but you just never know what people are going through or what they’re dealing with,” Butler said.

“Obviously, sending my heart and condolences to his family, his loved ones, his friends, all his former teammates that have been reaching out on the show.

“It’s a tough time right now.”

People in Davis’ life couldn’t say enough good things about him.

“#illinination we lost a great today!!! RIP TO @vontaedavis man nothing but good memories of that dude in school!!! Praying for the Davis family!!” he wrote.

Davis’ childhood friend, Bobby Maze, also mourned the former NFL player, saying that “life will never be the same.”

“To my childhood friend & to my brother @vontaedavis Rest In Peace,” Maze wrote.

“No words can explain how I feel right now. You was one of a kind & so full of life we would talk about you making it from good hope rode to the NFL & me being from suitland all day every day.

“Life will never be the same without my brother them FaceTime calls etc damn I wish we could have one more convo.

“You beat the odds you made it you did your way it just wasn’t supposed to end like this.”

Davis’ former driver and longtime friend Vladimir Moise said he was devastated about the news.

“I don’t know what happened. He was the life of the party and a leader. He did a lot of things for the community. We just started a transportation/concierge business,” Moise told WPLG.

The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins also mourned Davis in separate statements.

On March 21, days before his death, Davis shared a heartfelt post about his past and new projects he was working on.

In the Instagram post, he was leaning against a blue Mercedes while wearing a teal suit and patterned shirt.

“Born from adversity, fueled by resilience, my journey from poverty to prosperity is a testament to the power of determination and the love of family,” read the caption.

“Being adopted by my grandparents has motivated me to turn life’s hardships into opportunities. Now on the brink of launching @davishospitalitygroup_ stay tuned as we embark on this blessed journey!”

An autopsy is expected to reveal more information about the former NFL player’s cause of death.
