Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara, called for public support as devastating wildfires rage through Los Angeles County. Her plea aims to assist victims through Baby2Baby, an organization with a proven track record of helping communities in crisis.
Ciara, a Grammy Award-winning artist, has established herself as a force for positive change. Her leadership role with Baby2Baby helped raise a record-breaking $17.1 million at its November 2024 gala, surpassing its 2023 total by $5 million.
On Thursday on Instagram, Ciara shared a striking photo of the wildfires on social media. The Palisades Fire has become Los Angeles County’s most destructive blaze, destroying over 2,000 structures between Malibu and Santa Monica.
“Every little bit will make a difference!! We are in this together. Donate whatever you can here,” Ciara posted, including a link to Baby2Baby’s donation page.
The situation remains critical, with five confirmed deaths and 3.5 million California customers without power. President Biden’s Major Disaster declaration has activated Defense Department resources and opened access to emergency funds for affected communities.
Ciara’s recent wildfire relief effort builds on the singer’s extensive charitable work. After the Baby2Baby Gala’s success, she praised co-leaders Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer.
“What an honor it was to join my fellow Baby2Baby Angels for a historic night,” she shared on Instagram on Nov. 15.
Her philanthropy extends beyond disaster relief. With Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, she founded the Why Not You Foundation in 2014, focusing on youth empowerment and education. Their recent Pittsburgh initiative distributed nearly 400 coats, books and winter essentials to local children.
