Reviewing the Cowboys Player’s Involvement in March Murder Case that Prompted Emergency Interview Request

According to The Dallas Morning News, Dallas police are looking to interview Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph about a murder on March 18. The player was part of a disturbance outside of a bar at 2 am, where a 20-year-old man was fatally shot.

Team sources told the paper that the organization had encouraged Joseph to cooperate with the police. Cowboys officials do not believe Joseph was the shooter.

Of course, I hope Joseph is just a witness and nothing more, but my God. I feel like I see a headline like this every year out of Dallas. However, per the initial report, this is the Cowboys’ first felony investigation since 2014.

This definitely is not the only police-related story to come out of Dallas since then. For example, in the same 2014 season, they signed Greg Hardy despite domestic abuse accusations. La’el Collins, Lucky Whitehead, and Daniel Ross are just some of many names that have been caught up with police in one way or another over the years.

Not many teams have an arrest record that requires a dedicated article, so the reputation of signing criminals is well earned, even if it may not be totally fair in this specific case. Thus, I think they need to institute special measures to ensure things like this stop occurring.

The Cowboys really are in shambles this offseason. First, Jerry Jones was accused of having an illegitimate daughter, who he claimed was extorting him. Later, the organization settled with cheerleaders for millions when voyeurism allegations came to light.

UPDATE: Dallas police confirm Cowboys CB Kelvin Joseph will not face charges

And I don’t even want to say what Jones’ son was doing on a videotape…

While this may seem like just another day in Jerry World for Cowboys fans and staff, the rest of the country is just confused at this point. What the hell is in the water down in Arlington?
