“Man, I love this song,” says the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, who married his wife Tori Moore in 2014 and is sharing his HomePod playlist exclusively with PEOPLE. “There’s so much soul and deep love.”
The couple welcomed their daughter Lily James in 2017. “I love the beat and rhythm of the song,” says Foles. “I dance with Lily to it often. She loves Ed Sheeran!”
“I can relate to the song because so many times in my life I’ve thought to myself it is crazy the changes that happen throughout life,” says the Super Bowl MVP, who almost quit playing football several years ago.
Foles and Moore first met at the University of Arizona when he was the quarterback of the football team and she was a setter on the volleyball squad.
“I remember walking down the stairs and thinking ‘Wow, this might be the most gorgeous person I’ve ever seen,'” Foles — who says Young’s track is “just a great love song that gets the heart going” — previously told The Press of Atlantic City about his wife.
“I can relate to so much that is said in this song about sweet victory in Christ,” says Foles, who is outspoken about his Christian faith and previously revealed he hopes to become a pastor after he retires from football.
